Milestones:
- Sitting up. On March 2nd, Duvan sat for the first time for longer than 10 minutes unassisted! It's still quite a wobbly affair, but it's there!
- Duvan started to push his arms through the sleeves of his onesies when we dress him. It's so cute, we'll just put it in place and he basically dresses himself :). It's the little things that parents notice.
- At 23 weeks, Duvan started holding out his arms to you if he saw you were coming to pick him up.
- Duvan has now started to roll around a lot in his crib. (See the picture below). Since he's rolling freely now, every morning is a surprise - he's never in the same spot anymore! He sometimes works himself into such a difficult position that he'll have to call for Mom & Dad to come and rescue him!
- Vegetables have arrived on the menu. Duvan had his first taste of carrots on March 17th. It went down quite nicely!
- The game of "throw my toys down", has taken on a new dimension. Duvan used to love to hear a toy crash to the ground as he threw it off the table. He now loves to throw it down and search for it on the ground. It's super cute to watch, the toy will fall to the ground, and he will do all he can to see where it went, stretching and craning all he can to catch a glimpse of it.
- Duvan now pulls himself to a standing position all the way from the ground. He's slowly starting to realize that it also works with stationary objects (not just our hands).
- Duvan noticed his shadow! During a stroll, he seemed to notice the shadows following us around. He then started giggling at the shadows and really enjoyed it!
One morning after a nap we found Duvan in the most peculiar position in his crib. He found the edge of the bumper, and was exploring behind it.
Duvan hanging out with Dad after a long day at the office. Phew, real life is a lot harder than being a student, so Duvan had so give Dad some moral support.
Duvan enjoying a hippo yawn.
Duvan loves hide and seek games, especially when he can hear you, but can't see you. He'll get this excited look in his eyes and smile real wide. Here he's just winding down from such a game.
We're definitely enjoying summer. Duvan were "swimming" the other in his little bath outside. He thoroughly enjoyed it and splashed away. He seemed so excited to be in the warm water outdoors!
So, veggies are here! Duvan's having his first go at Purity (Gerber) carrots. It went down quite smoothly!
Duvan's mobility skills are sharpened by this new favorite toy. He loves to play and wrestle with the ball, and finds the tag especially interesting. The way Duvan explores with his hands is to gently wave his fingers through it, without moving his hand. Every now and again he'll stop wrestling the ball and wave his fingers through the tag for a while :).
It's hard to bite into the ball!
Duvan got this great seat from Grandma, which converts into a walking ring later on. It now functions as his high chair as well! The activity station in front of him comes off to be a table! Anyhow, you can tell that he's really excited about the music and lights.
